Estelle Busby

Estelle has 2 cats – Archie and Chester. They are indoor cats, in fact I think Archie is under the impression that he is a dog really! Unfortunately my previous cat was knock over by a car and had to be put to sleep. I decided that if the two kittens I got were happy to be indoor cats then that is what I would do – you just have to see them curled up on the sofa in the conservatory to know that they are very happy to be indoor cats!
Archie was diagnosed with diabetes in September last year. He has 2 insulin injections a day, he is so used to it now that he comes to sit for me to inject him! Archie loves it when I have visitors and will usually be found curled up on or next to them. Chester is shy and generally hides upstairs until he feels it is safe to come down again.

Niamh

Eddie: Eddie came into our lives in 2012 when, as a tiny kitten he was brought into the practice I was working in at the time as a stray - he had been found in a duffle bag in the centre of town! At the time I used to foster lots of stray kittens until homes were found for them so I initially brought Eddie home for foster, however he immediately ensured that he would be the last kitten I would ever foster by jumping straight onto my husband Matt's lap and starting up his trademark extremely loud purr! Eddie is a great cat, really full of character - very affectionate when he wants to be but ONLY when he wants to be. His favourite things are sleeping in his luxury cardboard box (much better than all the expensive beds we have bought him...), playing catch with pink fluffy toy mice (he really does prefer them to be pink!), playing hide and seek with our boxer, Aoife (sometimes its even Aoife doing the hiding!) and keeping our spider population down (sadly he isn't particularly talented at catching anything bigger than an insect). Eddie has struggled in the past with cystitis but luckily is doing really well at the moment with the help of a special diet, a water fountain and lots of TLC!  Niamh also has a Boxer called Aoife who is settling in well to family life after being rescued last year

Reuben is a yellow Labrador. He was born in 2012. He was born naturally but his mum ended up needing a cesarean after having trouble delivering some of the pups. As i was called in at 5am on Good Friday it was only right that I homed one of the litter.  He has always been quite a hyperactive dog. He is very sociable and loves all people and all other dogs. He occasionally comes into work to help with puppy socialisation classes. The pups love to climb on him and bite his ears which he does not always enjoy. The thing he forgets is that when he was a puppy he used to do this to other dogs!! His main love in life is food. He will give anything a try which has resulted in numerous stomach upsets. Still he will not learn and i am sure this will continue for many more years.  He loves his walks in the countryside and loves a game of football in the summer evenings.  He has plenty of toys at home which you often find in random rooms of the house and everyone who comes through the door must be greeted with a toy (its a surprise which one you get brought) Reuben enjoys learning and is very easy to teach new tricks. At the moment he can do the basics of sit, lie down, stay, roll over, paw (both feet) and you can even shoot him and he will play dead.  He is a lovely boy with a great personality. Everybody loves Reuben!! (as i frequently say)

Laura Collinson

Lily is a beautiful white cat with one blue and one yellow eye, she is now 18years and since we rehomed her in 2007, she has thrived on being thoroughly spoilt. As the only pet in our household she has the run of the garden and all the soft cosy areas; bed and sofas to sleep all day! With a diagnosed heart murmur and more recently with the onset of senility we get her regularly checked by the vet and try to limit stressful situation and keep a regular routine.

Wren is a lively working English Springer Spaniel. She is a much-loved family pet but also enjoys beating and picking-up on local shoots. Wren adores the water and is very happy to live close to both the river Orwell and Stour on the Shotley peninsula. She, like most spaniels, enjoys long walks whatever the weather, and the muddier the conditions the better for her. Wren is particularly fond of flushing game, swimming and rolling in smelly stuff like fox poo! She dislikes other dogs that chase her, having her ears cleaned and coming into Ali's work for a bath (after rolling in said fox poo!).

Vickie Sadler

Kumar is an 18 and half year old leopard spotted bengal, we re-homed him from Orwell Vets when he was 8yrs. He is extremely vocal and loves attention, he has always been a healthy boy but is definitely slowing down now but still acts about 10! He favourite past times envolve: sleeping, basking in the sun and waking us up at all hours.
