I joined Orwell Vets in 1996, straight from Northgate Sixth Form, when Charles and James were just in the process of opening up our small branch surgery near to where I lived in Kesgrave. I was made Head Veterinary Nurse in 1998 and became qualified and registered in 2001. Since this time I have seen the practice develop in many ways, the highlight being the opening of our purpose-built hospital in 2005. Along with Jo, I oversee the smooth running of our busy hospital and provide training and support to the other veterinary nurses. I particularly enjoy theatre work, anaesthesia and critical care and am proud of the high standards of nursing care provided by the team at Orwell Vets. As nurse manager I have a variety of responsibilities including recruitment and nurse training. I also produce clinical governance reports to allow the veterinary surgeons and nursing team to monitor the outcomes of the clinical and surgical work we do to ensure we are doing our best for each and every patient.  I have recently completed the Graduate Diploma in Professional and Clinical Veterinary Nursing via the Royal Veterinary College. I really enjoyed this course, although it was quite tough getting back into hours and hours of studying after so long! I learnt some advanced nursing skills during the course of this qualification and am pleased to be putting them to good use in practice. Outside of work I enjoy exploring the beautiful Suffolk coast with my family and working Springer – either on foot or in our Canadian canoe.

I have been at Orwell Vets since 2005. I started here as a trainee nurse and completed my qualification to become a registered veterinary nurse in 2008. I have a keen interest in animal psychology and have qualifications in canine and feline behaviour. Alongside this I run puppy socialisation classes at the practice. I also enjoy dog training and it is something I would like to do more of in the future.  Pets - I have a yellow lab called Reuben. He is full of energy and character. We love teaching him many tricks. Outside of work I enjoy walking him and taking him to agility classes.  Hobbies - As well as walking Reu I enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling. When I can fit time in I like to cross stitch and have been doing this for many years.

I originally joined Orwell Vets in 2008 when I worked as a student veterinary nurse for two years, before gaining my NVQ Level 3 in Veterinary Nursing in 2010. I stayed at OVG for another year after qualifying before starting work at an emergency out of hour’s company, working mainly night shifts. I joined the Animal Health Trust Referral Centre in September 2012, working as a
shift nurse rotating between wards and clinics. I then re-joined OVG in September 2014. I have particular interests in our Feline patients and Emergency, Critical Care and Anaesthesia.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, watching movies and seeing friends and family.
Pets: I own five cats; four Siamese- Mezi, B, Isla and Alf and a naughty Bengal Cross called Leo.

My veterinary career started in 2004, when I joined a large mixed animal practice. This is where I gained my qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2009. In February 2011 I started working at Orwell Veterinary Group. I enjoy all aspects of nursing especially nurse clinics and caring for the patients in the wards. Since working at Orwell I have progressed to become a clinical coach, this involves me teaching and supporting student nurses studying for their qualification. I am a really big guinea pig fan and currently have three, Humbug, Polo and Rolo. Outside of work I enjoy walking and going to the gym. I enjoy socialising with friends and family.

I began my student veterinary nurse training in September 2014, and have wanted to be a vet nurse since I was 7 years old. My hobbies and interests include spending time with friends, and going horse riding. I share a lovely Cob x ISH gelding called Travis, taking part in competitions in my spare time. I hope to one day work in mixed practice, nursing both small and large animals. I have 2 crazy Deerhounds called Albert and Wilfred, and 3 cats called Ruby, Alfie and Louie - who are the same age as me!
